Jennifer Son, cello

Jennifer Son is an avid chamber musician and artist. She has performed in the United States, Canada, Korea and India. She has been a resident guest artist at Con Brio in Bombay, India, and envisions sharing her passion in other parts of the world where Western Classical music education is limited.

Jennifer began studying cello at age 6 at the Vancouver Academy of Music, received her bachelor’s degree at the Chicago College of Performing Arts and her master’s in cello performance at the Cleveland Institute of Music. She is working on her doctorate at Arizona State University, while serving as orchestra director for the American Leadership Academy.

Jennifer is a substitute musician with the Phoenix Symphony. She volunteers with United Sound, which provides musical experiences for students with special needs. Jennifer enjoys spending quality time with her friends and family, including her dog, Forrest, and cat, Dodo.
