Jeanie Pierce is a music educator and professional flutist actively teaching and performing throughout the Phoenix area. She earned a bachelor of music degree from the University of Montana, a master of music degree from the University of New Mexico, and a doctorate in musical arts from Arizona State University.
Jeanie is the college guidance counselor at BASIS Goodyear and previously taught music and band for grades K-12. She has also taught at BASIS Phoenix and BASIS Scottsdale and served BASIS Schools as a subject advisor responsible for curriculum development and new teacher training. Prior to joining BASIS, Jeanie was an instructor at Estrella Mountain Community College, where she taught music history and literature classes in classical, jazz, and popular music subjects.
As a performer, Jeanie has held positions as the principal flutist with professional and community bands and orchestras as well as numerous chamber groups. She is the principal flutist with the MusicaNova Orchestra and past principal flutist of the Chandler Symphony Orchestra, where she was regularly featured as a soloist. She also performs with the MusicaNova Woodwind Quintet and the Sonoran Silver Flute Ensemble.
