The MusicaNova Chamber Winds break down the boundaries that often stand in the way of enjoying classical music. The concert is at 2 p.m. May 16 at the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts.
The quintet will journey through music written by Wolfgang Mozart, African-American composers William Grant Still and Valerie Coleman (Performance Today’s 2020 Classical Woman of the Year) and Graham Cohen and Eric Ewazen, contemporary composers of separate generations. Their individual voices and experiences speak through the music.
The concert is part of the Classical Lounge Series curated by MusicaNova for the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts, showcasing the work of wonderful Arizona classical musicians in a casual, informal setting.
