Emilio Vazquez, director
A native of Arizona, Emilio Vazquez is an active violinist and teaching artist in the Valley.
He received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in music performance from Arizona State University, where he studied with Dr. Jonathan Swartz. While at ASU, Emilio participated in the Visiting Quartet Residency Program, where he worked with the Juilliard String Quartet, St. Lawrence String Quartet, Shanghai String Quartet, Brentano String Quartet, and the Ying String Quartet.
He has studied and performed at music festivals such as the Bowdoin International Music Festival, Le Domaine Forget, Innsbrook Institute, St. Lawrence String Quartet Seminar, and Red Rocks Winter Chamber Institute.
Emilio has a private teaching studio in Chandler, where he teaches students from ages 6 to 70. He is the principal second violin for MusicaNova Orchestra, as well as the music librarian and a member of the Board of Directors. This fall, he is excited to join the team of teachers at Harmony Project Phoenix.
Outside of music, he stays active by hiking, cycling, and running, as well as running a real estate business on the side.
